Eggs N' Macon Fried at Bingo
Binghamton has announced that Head Coach Mark Macon will no longer be in charge of the Bearcats after four years with the program. This comes in an offseason that has already seen them lose big men Ben Dickinson and Omar Richards, as well as guard Chris Longoria. Is it possible that we might see a worse Binghamton team than last year's squad?
@jdfiore
received phenomenal news about some stuff regarding @SBAthletics Can't wait to share! Stay tuned; gonna be transformative
Here we go! Let the rumors spread. A few on Twitter are already saying it could be a move to the CAA. We are not going to speculate, but this announcement could have a major impact on the shape of the AE.
New Great Dane D.J. Evans
@AndrewSantillo:
Looks like @ua_basketball has quickly filled 1 of the scholarships now open after departure of Suero & Aronhalt with DJ Evans @baller33grEAT
UA has moved quickly to replace the talent of Gerardo Suero and Logan Aronhalt. The Great Danes have received a commit from JUCO transfer D.J. Evans of East Mississippi Community College. Evans is a 5'8'' guard who averaged 15 pts per game, shooting 41% from the field this past season. He is originally from Brandon, MS.
Did UA just lose a chance at an AE Title before the summer? Aronhalt also leaving UA
So UA fans may not be in a good mood. They learned today that they will be without one of the Top 10 scorers in the nation, but also Logan Aronhalt next season. That means the Great Danes are losing two players that combined scored near 50% of the teams points in 2011-12. Ouch! Aronhalt says he is concerned with getting his Master's Degree, but UA does not offer the program he wants. Suero has already stated that he is going to pursue a professional career. He has already filled paperwork for the NBA Draft.
Macon losing control? Star player to transfer as coaches replaced
It was confirmed yesterday that Bingo's top player Ben Dickinson, along with frosh guard Chris Longoria are leaving the Bearcats. This comes the same week as Macon announced that assistant coaches Ron Brown and Julius Smith would not have their contracts renewed. OneBidWonders.com is also reporting that Omar Richards is also leaving BU. How long will Mark Macon last? It seems that yet another difficult season is ahead of him.
Suero out at UA
WCDBSports' Jay Sanin earlier today broke the news that Gerardo Suero was leaving the conference. Big props to Sanin, who proved that college radio announcers can be just as good of a journalist as the boys paid the big bucks. It is a huge blow for the Great Danes. Now they must replace one of the leading scorers in the nation.
Transfers? No Problem...UVM lands two
UVM has lost three players this season because of transfers. However, the Catamounts were able to fill those scholarships quickly. It was announced that UVM has landed Pepperdine's Hector Harold (F, Soph.) and Northeastern's Ryan Pierson (C, Soph). Both will not be eligible to play for the Catamounts next season due to NCAA rules.
