The Elder Voelkel's Record Finally Falls

Brian Voelkel's father played college basketball at American in the late 70's. For over thirty years, he held the record for consecutive made field goals with 25. Not many records hang around for that long in college basketball.

Thanks to Bowling Green's Torian Oglesby 26th straight field goal, that record just fell. Oglesby's 26 makes were spread out over the course of seven games and one has to assume they were mostly lay ups or dunks.

One thing is for sure: the younger Voelkel probably won't be challenging this record any time soon.
