One more guess...AE BracketBusters Predictions

The waiting in painful. Which schools will play against AE teams in the ESPN BracketBusters?

About two weeks ago I made some predictions on who the AE teams will play in ESPN BracketBusters. The games are suppose to be announced this coming Monday.

After a few games and few wins and loses and changes in RPI, I am going to take one last stab at it.

No Changes In My Predictions

Binghamton vs. Radford (Big South) - Even though people are hoping for a Bingo-Towson match-up, it won't happen. Both are in the away pool and ESPN isn't going to screw with the pools for two win-less programs. Radford seems like the safe bet and closest geographically. However, I could also see VMI sneaking in.

Hartford vs. St. Peter's (MAAC)

Stony Brook vs. Northeastern (CAA) - I believe last nights Stony Brook win against BU sealed this. Both teams can claim they have beaten the Terriers. With the CAA considered to be a much superior conference to the AE this season, it is reasonable to have a team from the middle of the conference take on a the top team from the AE conference. Both have similar RPI's and I expect it to be a fun game. However, I do think Delaware is a possibility.

Towson (CAA) vs. New Hampshire - Sucks for UNH. Maybe if they played better they would not have to deal with this.

Marist (MAAC) vs. Maine

Niagara (MAAC) vs. Vermont - UVM fans may want better, but it is a fair match-up.

Changes In My Predictions

UMBC vs. Canisius (MAAC) - Two bad teams going in the same direction. Canisius' RPI has dropped dramatically and is within in limit in my view. Gardner Webb is still a possibility, but I think their RPI is good enough to warrant not playing the Retrievers.

Boston U. vs. Miami (OH) (MAC) - Really is difficult to predict where they will go. I first thought Morgan State, but now their RPI is way to low. Miami (OH) does have a lower RPI, but seems like a good fit and does make it more interesting for the Terriers. I also like Detroit of the Horizon League.

James Madison (CAA) vs. UAlbany - I think it finally fits. Both teams have RPI's that are within throwing distance. However, I still think Rider could sneak into this spot.

It is now time to wait and see. Hopefully we can get some exciting games to finish non-conference play this season.
