Around SBN: New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Ring Unveiled

I know it's usually a courtesy on the part of the opposing coach from a big time basketball school to speak nice of mid-majors shipped in for a solid home-opening W...but this tweet from Indiana head coach Tom Crean is making the rounds in Bloomington.

Obviously I'm not banking on an away game win over a Big 10 basketball program, but this game might be closer than anyone thought it could be a year ago.

Shameless

Puffery is not the most sincere form of flattery. Or the Hoosiers really suck.

This is an internationally seasoned squad.

Didn’t talk much about foreign tours on this blog — but if SBU has hit it’s stride already, they might have a shot with all those offensive weapons.

SBU vs. Indiana

Tough for anyone to really predict this game, other than to call for an Indiana win by 10-15 points. However, SB is experienced and deep, and really has no pressure on them. To me, the keys are: rebounding, especially early in the game, turnovers, and maybe most importantly, how the game is officiated. SB will not get the borderline calls, but as long as Indiana isn’t in the bonus after 10 minutes of the half, they may have a shot to keep it close heading into the last 5 minutes of the game, which will then switch the pressure over to the younger, less experienced Hoosiers. (also, SB has to obviously shoot at least 40% plus from 3-pt range to stay in the game, as they won’t score a lot inside on a much bigger oponent)
